Wound Care Technologies, manufacturer and marketer of the DermaClose continuous external tissue expander, is exhibiting at the 2015 annual joint meeting of the American Association for Hand Surgery (AAHS), the American Society of Peripheral Nerve (ASPN) and the American Society for Reconstructive Microsurgery (ASRM). This year’s event is being held in beautiful Paradise Island Bahamas at the Atlantis Paradise Island Resort, January 21-27.

This global event, attended by more than 1,000 hand, plastic, orthopedic and affiliated surgical professionals, is a collaborative way for researchers, clinicians and surgeons to strategize new ideas and partnerships while advancing the technologies surrounding the plastic surgery and orthopedic specialties.

“We are excited to be involved in this important conference and are looking forward to talking to surgeons about their initiatives in microsurgery”, says Wound Care Technologies President Paul Anderson.

There have been several recent journal articles about the use of the DermaClose in closing ALT donor site wounds. The September Journal of Microsurgery has an article entitled “Management of anterolateral thigh free Flap donor site defects with a continuous external tissue expander.” Outcomes of 20 ALT free flap cases with flap widths up to 15 cm treated with CETE were retrospectively reviewed. The conclusion states “CETE (Continuous External Tissue Expansion) with the use of the DermaClose® system is highly effective in closing donor site defects following large ALT flap harvests.” Click here for
